Skip Bayless pleads with Charles Barkley to join âUndisputed:â âLet me annihilate you on a daily basisâ
Skip Bayless is pleading with Charles Barkley to join him on “Undisputed.”
The Fox Sports analyst is looking for a replacement for Shannon Sharpe, and he wants the “Inside the NBA” analyst because he “would make a fool of himself. He added Bayless would annihilate him on a daily basis.
“Charles Barkley would be my dream debate partner on Undisputed,” Bayless said on the latest episode of The Skip Bayless Show. “I would dive out of bed every morning out here in Los Angeles at two o’clock in the morning to get to work with Charles. Please, Charles, please come and please work with me, this ‘damn idiot.’ What a joy it would be to do battle every day with Charles Barkley live on television.”
Two of the most notable on-air sports personalities have been trading insults. Bayless called the former Auburn star a “clown” after Barkley called Bayless an “damn idiot.”
“I could semi-retire. I could mail it in. I could, dare I say, actually have a life and forget about prepping so furiously hard,” Bayless said. “I’d have to do is let Charles go first and listen to him make a fool out of himself…I wouldn’t even have to try. So please, please, please, Charles, come be this damn idiot’s debate partner. Please let me annihilate you on a daily basis. Let me make barbecue chicken out of you.”
Barkley’s comment came during his coverage of The Match between the teams of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson and Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
Barkley was talking about Shannon Sharpe leaving Bayless and the show.
“He’s the best tight end, it’s between him and Gronk as the best ever. And I don’t want to leave out Shannon Sharpe,” Barkley said. “I want one of those jobs where I can get a buyout for working with an idiot.”
Barkley later joked, “What do you think Ernie? You think I can get a buyout for working with Shaq? I’m just saying, if they’re gonna give people buyouts if they’re working with a damn idiot, I want one too!”
